As I'm sure you could guess about me by now, I do a lot of reading every day. A lot of it pertains to the animals I love and how to take care of them the best possible way. Living with my dog Loki has proven to be a challenge this past year, and I'll share our story over a few blog posts, but he's taught us a lot and introduced me to a whole new world of animal care. For today, let's start here:
Tihs afternoon I read an article by Dr. Becker, she talks about managing a dog's pain through Chiropractic care. Her article is here: http://healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2012/01/17/chiropractic-care-for-pets.aspx. It's a great, short read and very informative and there’s a video if you don’t want to read.
For those that don't know, chiropractic treatments are when a trained, licensed doctor evaluates the patient and then manipulates the spine to re-align those parts of it that needed to be put back in place. This can alleviate pain, provide preventative care, help athletes stay in peak performance, and the list goes on.
It is a wonderfully holistic approach to health care that most people don’t even know is an option for animals.
